About Mongshil

Mongshil (몽실) comes from a Korean word for something soft, round, and gently full — like a cloud, or fresh dough before it’s shaped. It’s the kind of softness you don’t have to try for. It’s already there.

That’s the idea behind this space.

I started Mongshil because I got tired of searching for real answers and only finding advice built for someone else’s hair, someone else’s skin, someone else’s timeline. Tight, high-density curls treated like every other curl type. Aging skin talked about like it’s the same at every age, on every face. Men’s grooming barely talked about at all.

Right now, I’m starting with hair — working through the full range of Asian hair types, from high-density curls to low-density curls to straight hair, since even within Asian hair, what works for one type can completely fail for another. From there, I’ll be building out skincare, aging, and a dedicated space for men’s grooming, all with the same approach: real research, real testing, no filler.

No advice built for someone else’s hair pretending it’s yours. Just information made with you in mind — soft, round, full, the way it should have been from the start.
